Angel A

Angel A author

Angel A is an Australian writer, filmmaker, and chiropractor whose work bridges the worlds of healing and storytelling. For thirty years, he has maintained a community chiropractic practice  while simultaneously creating transformational narratives that explore the pivotal moments when people must choose between remaining trapped in inauthentic lives or leaping toward their true selves.

His company name, Angel’s Leap, is inspired by the French expression “le saut de l’ange”—that crucial moment when we can no longer continue as we have and must decide to either fall into defeat or soar into transformation. This concept is exemplified in his award-winning short film Le Saut De L’Ange, which earned the Special Jury Remi Award (the highest award in its category) at WorldFest-Houston, the festival that discovered Spielberg, Lucas, and the Coen Brothers. Directing under his birth name Adam Mackey, he produced the film in Corsica, France, with an international crew from six countries.

Drawing on his understanding of archetypal patterns and mythology, Angel A crafts what readers have described as “stories that heal.” His debut novel, Mary Poser, earned multiple awards, with its audiobook becoming a 2023 SOVAS (Society of Voice Arts and Sciences) Best VoiceOver finalist. His second novel, Holy Parrot, explores themes of belief, identity, and the courage to question inherited narratives. Each novel begins as a feature film screenplay, reflecting his cinematic approach to storytelling and his ongoing commitment to developing these stories for the screen.

Angel A’s unique perspective comes from three decades of witnessing how people’s physical pain often masks deeper emotional and psychological misalignments. His narratives explore the root causes of human suffering and the transformative power of living authentically. Through compelling characters facing their own Angel’s Leap moments, his stories challenge readers to examine their own self-sabotaging patterns and discover the courage to align with their most authentic selves.

Adam Mackey/Angel A
The Film Director

Adam was born in Melbourne, Australia and was introduced to the world of theater at an early age working mainly in acting, choreography and script writing. With the wonderful support of a dedicated crew, he took on the challenge of directing and producing a film in a foreign language on the beautiful island of Corsica. ‘Le Saut de L’Ange’ (Angel’s Leap) has received excellent international review and has won a Remi Award at the WorldFest International Film Festival.

“When we shot Angel’s Leap in Corsica, we had a crew from six countries. It was a wonderful experience.
I like to offer creative possibilities to others who want to work in film. When people place their trust in me and offer support with a project, it motivates me to create something wonderful. “
Adam expanded his creative world in 2017 when he released ‘Mary Poser: Butterflies and white lies as Bollywood comes to Nashville’ under the writing name Angel A. This novel received 14 International awards for excellence.
“I write each project as a script first, and then the novel emerges from these pages, revealing greater depth and detail for the audience.”
As Angel A, Adam’s latest critically acclaimed novel is ‘Holy Parrot’, which reveals insights for the emerging Age of Aquarius, as told by a science student called Leo Lumière.
Adam muses, “It took me four years and four injuries to write Holy Parrot. The insights gained by exploring this topic were remarkable.”
